A Michigan boy’s story reached millions of people who wanted to make sure he had a great 11th birthday.
His mom set up a Facebook page weeks ago when her son didn’t want a birthday party because he didn’t have friends to invite.
She said he has a disorder that makes socializing a challenge.
In a short time, the “Happy Birthday Colin” Facebook page had 2.1 million likes plus countless messages of love and encouragement.
People also sent Colin cards and gifts to a post office box that was set up in his name.
The surprise was revealed to him on television Friday. That same day a YouTube video was added with Colin expressing thanks and offering an apology.
He called it a “really big and confusing day” and explained it took a while for him to fully comprehend what had happened.
